The 2024 General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 5; abstentee voting is Sept. 20 - Nov. 4. Crystal will have four council seats on the 2024 general election ballot. The term for mayor and three council seats representing Ward 3 and Ward 4 in northern Crystal, and Section I (Wards 1 and 2) in southern Crystal, expire at the end of 2024.

The City of Crystal, through the West Metro Fire-Rescue District, is working with Smart911 to notify residents via email, text, phone or social media when there are emergencies. To receive these mass notifications, residents must opt in, sign up for an account and share the varying levels of information that they want police, fire and EMS to utilize when responding to a 9-1-1 call. Explore the City of Crystal’s rich history in this six-installment documentary entitled “Our Town’s Story – Crystal.” The installments feature rare and historical images and video of Crystal’s past underscored with interviews with community members and volunteers, former Crystal city employees, Crystal Historical Society members and others.

According to state law, garbage haulers that have an additional charge for organics recycling must charge all its customers the same, whether or not that customer participates in organics recycling. Local governments cannot opt out of the state requirement that haulers charge all customers for organics recycling equally, nor do cities control the amount haulers can charge.

The Crystal Farmers Market is Tuesdays from 3 - 7 p.m. at Becker Park from now until Sept. 27 . The event includes free music, home-grown produce and agricultural products, crafts, food trucks and more.

Crystal property owners can view their current and past water usage and set up alerts via the city’s new SENSUS Customer Portal.
