The city council reviews the demand for, and cost of, all its services and prioritizes them in the annual budget cycle. It is the city council's responsibility to balance the many competing interests across the community to provide the mix of services funded through the budget that, in their judgment, is in the long-term interest of the whole community.

In 2018, the council is working on operating budgets for 2019 and 2020. Work sessions are scheduled in the fall with an opportunity for public input on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018. A final review and possible adoption of the two-year budget is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The city council's focus for the 2018 budget, approved at the end of 2017, was to create a thriving business community, developing fiscally sound and stable financial polices and practices and creating strong neighborhoods.

The city council adopted the 2018 property tax levy at its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. Click here to view the city presentation.
