City of Crystal 2026 Street and Utility Reconstruction Project
City of Crystal 2026 Street and Utility Reconstruction Project
Construction began on Monday, May 4, and the contractor has since begun street work, set up temporary mailboxes, and set up temporary water on Brunswick Ave. N., Zane Ave. N., and 29th Pl. N. from Zane to Brunswick. Temporary mailboxes are located at the northeast side of the Zane and Medicine Lake Rd. intersection.

This past week, GMH Asphalt Corp. removed the asphalt and curb on 29th Pl. N. and Zane Ave. N. All bacteria testing passed for the temporary water system, and all residents have been connected to it. Next week, lining will begin for the water main. The large pits surrounded by barricades at street intersections are for this lining process. These will remain like this until lining is completed, which could take a few weeks.

Storm sewer work will also begin next week. Portions of the road will need to be dug up at that time to allow for this work to occur. Residents should have access to their driveways throughout the installation process but, if for any reason a resident will not have access to their driveway, they will be given notice beforehand.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the construction observer, Lucas Gross, at (612) 791-8423 or [email protected].

Thank you for your patience as the City works to improve the infrastructure in your neighborhood.

Construction crews will start working in the area. The contractor has started setting up erosion control, traffic control, saw cutting removals and marking underground utilities. We expect work to kick in closer to June as CenterPoint prepares to replace an old gas main along the west side of Hampshire Ave. N. from Medicine Lake Road to 32nd Ave. N. You will see paint markings and crews in the area working within the right-of-way and utility easements along the street.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Engineering Project Manager, Miguel Pimentel, at 763-531-1161 or [email protected].
