COVID-19 Rental Assistance

CEAP LogoHennepin CountyOn May 5, 2020 the Hennepin County Board approved $15 million for emergency rental assistance for low-income residents. Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP) will administer the program in Crystal and adjacent cities. This funding is expected to help 9,000 low-income Hennepin County residents maintain stable housing during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

You may be eligible if you:
• Rent your housing in Hennepin County. 
• Have household income below 50% of the area median income (about $46,550 for a household of three).
• Have lost income due to COVID-19.
• Can’t afford housing costs this month.
• Are not receiving Section 8 or other ongoing rental assistance.

Eligible expenses include:
• Rent payments (late rent and rent due within 15 days).
• Utility payments (due and arrears).

Priority will be given to households that have income below 30% of the area median or are ineligible for Unemployment Insurance.
